I have a vacation coming up. Eight or nine days. I was going to go to Los Angeles, but now I'm not going to Los Angeles. I may go up to New Hampshire to Emily's cabin and hermit out. Off the grid. I could write. I should write. I could conduct cooking experiments. I could play Solitaire. I could watch Orson Welles movies. Read.

Please leave your suggestions in the box.

Do what I'm doing: check your e-mail and voicemail obsessively on the off chance that this year, acceptance/rejection notices are being sent out in early January...

HA, you share many of the same interests as the 10-year-old version of myself - solitaire, writing poetry, reading, cooking experiments (usually resulting in melted bowls), and hermitage. My favorite solitaire games around that era were Klondike, Canfield, Eagle Wing, and Pyramid. I suggest Canfield above all. If I can find my old solitaire book I surely will lend it to you.
